Mission

To ignite students with a passion for God so that they can take the Gospel to every nation in our generation.

Vision

All throughout history, we have seen God set people’s hearts on fire in order to live a radical life for His glory. We are praying that in our generation, God would set the hearts of many students on fire so that we may burn for Him.

The word “ignite” comes from the Latin root word “ignis,” which means “fire.” Therefore, if something is to ignite, it means to “set on fire” or “begin to burn.” The dictionary officially defines “ignite” as:

1) cause to start burning; subject to fire or great heat;
2) start to burn or burst into flames;
3) arouse or excite feelings and passions.

What would it be like if we saw a whole generation of college students who are set on fire with God’s glory and love? What would it be like if we saw a whole generation of college students start to burn in their love for Jesus? What would it be like if we saw a whole generation of college students who were excited and passionate about bringing the Gospel to every nation? Simply, we would see a generation of students living radically for Jesus Christ.

At this !gnite Conference, we are going to gather the college students of all the HMCC churches together, so that we can seek God’s heart. We want to encounter His Holy Presence in order to have our hearts ignited and set on fire. In this way, we will be able to burn and shine brightly for Jesus Christ; and then passionately take the Gospel to every nation in our generation. This conference will also be used as a commissioning service for the summer missions teams that will be sent out to various locations around the world.

We are living in a unique time in history. God has been sovereignly orchestrating events and circumstances throughout the world in order for a generation of college students to rise up and hear the call to take the Gospel to every nation. Now is the time; and we are the generation!

May the prayer of Jim Elliot, a missionary who was martyred in Ecuador, be our prayer in this generation: “God, I pray Thee, light these idle sticks of my life and may I burn for Thee. Consume my life, my God, for it is Thine. I seek not a long life, but a full one, like you, Lord Jesus.”
